Open Source Hadoop becoming increasing popular for ECM customers

Chicago, IL. – February 4, 2015 – Technology Services Group, Inc. (TSG), an open-source enterprise content management (ECM) solution provider, today announced the creation of a new practice area specifically focused on Hadoop and related technologies.

“Hadoop has impressed many of our clients with the ability to cost-effectively manage large amounts of data and replace existing proprietary and expensive databases and file storage.”  said Dave Giordano, President of Technology Services Group.  “In discussions with our clients and product managers, we found we could easily extend our current products and consulting services to capitalize on Hadoop’s capabilities while leveraging on our experience with ECM, Lucene/Solr and other open source products to augment Hadoop.”

TSG provides Open Source solutions and consulting services that enhance and extend ECM installations.  Currently released products include OpenMigrate®  for ECM content initial load and ongoing migrations, ActiveWizard®  for form and workflow automation, High Performance Interface (HPI) ®  for search, retrieval and editing of content, OpenAnnotate® for annotation of PDF content, OpenContent®, a web service framework for a variety of ECM tools and OpenOverlay® for PDF manipulation as well as many others.

“We have recently developed and tested OpenContent, OpenMigrate, HPI and OpenAnnotate against our internal Hadoop instance.” said Ben Allen, Hadoop practice leader of Technology Services Group.  “Our plans are to continue to develop additional functionality and offer a full ECM product suite shortly for Hadoop.”
