HBase

Leveraging HBase/Hadoop for ECM

TSG has been leveraging open source tools for our Enterprise Content Management clients since our founding in 1996. In addition to working with commercial vendors like Alfresco, we have seen open source technologies like Solr/Lucene replace traditional relational database vendors like Oracle or full-text search vendors including Verity.

Access a free whitepaper from the Analysts at Deep Analysis on “A Big Data Approach for ECM“

The Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and Hadoop MapReduce programming model offers an alternative to typical ECM relational database and SAN environments. Please see our introduction post in regard to Hadoop and Its Opportunities for Enterprise Content Management.

To differentiate ourselves from other consulting firms and assist clients with Hbase/Hadoop ECM implementations, TSG has built a library of Java-based software products for typical ECM needs. All of these products have resulted from client implementations and leverage industry standards such as the Spring framework to increase future flexibility. Rather than rebuild them for each client at a high cost, TSG has chosen to share the software with our clients allowing everyone to benefit. We frequently use these products to reduce project costs and simplify complex implementations.
