Building upon our OpenAnnotate-ADF integration post from last week, TSG has added OpenRedact as an additional viewer option to Alfresco’s Application Development Framework. OpenRedact is a companion product to OpenAnnotate and is a browser based tool that offers manual and suggestion based redaction. This post will describe the additional features that OpenRedact brings to Alfresco ADF applications with a short video.
Alfresco’s Application Development Framework (ADF) provides a modern developer-friendly framework with extensible Angular components for developing Alfresco web applications. The sample ADF content application includes building block modules that support core ECM features, like searching, filtering, navigating folders, viewing documents and their properties. By adding a new OpenRedact component to the ADF Content Application, TSG has made redaction functionality available by bundling the core OpenRedact product into this example application.
The new features enabled in ADF by bundling OpenRedact includes:
- Redacting Images and PDFs
- Redacting documents permanently, or allowing a user to create a new redacted copy and resaving the original unredacted document with restricted permissions
- Redaction collaboration features
See our 2018 Redaction Roadmap posts for additional planned integration features:
- Suggested Redactions
- Bulk Automated Redactions for GDPR and right to be forgotten
- Bulk Redaction within a Folder
