The first step in supporting all of the TSG products on Hadoop is building our OpenContent REST Web Services layer to access Hadoop in the same manner we access Documentum, Alfresco and other content management systems. This post will present our plans and timelines for OpenContent along with associated TSG solutions.
Documentum or Alfresco – Performance for viewing documents in browser based applications.
I was talking with a client yesterday that is building a custom application and the topic of viewing performance came up, specifically, “which viewer is the fastest”? The client has looked at a number of common options. This post will discuss the many components of document viewing performance that are similar for Documentum or Alfresco.
Next Generation ECMS – Architecture Thoughts
We responded this week to a Documentum Pharma customer that, like many of our legacy ECM customers, is looking at what could be next for ECM and is particularly focused on systems architecture. In prepping for the response, we thought it would make a good post to share with other readers and would tie well […]
Alfresco or Documentum Collaborative Document Reviews with OpenAnnotate
Whenever we give a demo of OpenAnnotate, clients always ask, “What happens when multiple users need to review a document at the same time?” OpenAnnotate has always supported having multiple users annotating a document at the same time, but a recent client has added functionality which broadcasts “live” the annotations and comments that users are making. For one of our current clients, we are moving from an onsite Canon ImageWare solution to Alfresco hosted within the Amazon Cloud. This post will share our experience migrating from ImageWare to Alfresco and include some specifics […]
Documentum – Momentum EMC World 2014 Recap – Some bunts, hits as well as some swings
In talking about our overall thoughts of EMC World and Momentum 2014, I thought I would resurrect our baseball analogy from where we felt Documentum was too often swinging for the fences with grandiose product plans and relationships that were turning into more strikeouts than runs. As we mentioned in 2013, we were impressed with […]
