Documentum or Alfresco – Proximity Date Searching with HPI

You are here: Home / Product Suite / OpenContent Management Suite / Documentum or Alfresco – Proximity Date Searching with HPI

November 24, 2015

It’s a common requirement for our clients to have the ability to search on a date field in relationship to today’s date rather than a specific date range.  This is very useful for the following search scenarios:

  • Find all documents with a Periodic Review Date in the next 6 months / 3 months / 1 month / etc.
  • Find all documents with an Effective Date within 1 month, past and future.  In this scenario, we want to find documents that were made effective in the past month as well as documents that are approved but will become effective in the next month.
  • Find all contracts that will expire in the next 3 months.
  • Find all invoices that are due in the next week.
  • Etc.

Needless to say, there are many different scenarios where searching in proximity to today’s date is a very helpful feature.  See the Proximity Date control in action and let us know your thoughts below!
