Webtop Search Query Customization

You are here: Home / Documentum / D6 / Webtop Search Query Customization

July 24, 2009

Customized webtop searches don’t always return what you expect.  The actual SQL that is running the search behind the scenes by webtop often differs across databases. To check the generated SQL on Webtop 6 or Webtop 6.5, hold down the “control” key while you click on the edit search button on the search results page. A popup window will open showing you helpful information about the QueryBuilder object.

We came across an issue at a client that had FAST full-text searches producing case sensitive searches when combined with attribute searches.  By utilizing the control click search popup, we were able to see that a DQL hint was being appended to full-text + attribute searches which was causing the issue.
