Technology Services Group, Inc has developed a new relationship with Alfresco as part of our commitment to Open Source Alternatives. Alfresco was founded in June 2005 by John Newton, co-founder of Documentum, and John Powell, former COO of Business Objects, and funded by Accel Partners. TSG has a long term relationship with the founder of Alfresco, John Newton, formed while he was at Documentum.

Alfresco's mission is to open up content management through open source to people and businesses that could not afford enterprise-level content management before and to increase innovation in the sector through community participation and free access to source code and designs. Alfresco's team has extensive experience in designing content management systems and interfaces, including Documentum's server, Java web development kit and portal integrations. Alfresco uses this experience to open enterprise content management to anyone.

The Alfresco content management system is targeted at professional developers of portals, content and compliance applications and on-line services struggling to meet the needs of end-users creating and sharing content. For J2EE-based professional portal projects, the Alfresco system has enterprise content management capabilities at a much lower cost than commercial systems. Technology Services Group, Inc has developed a new relationship with Blue Fish Development Group as part of our growing Web Content Management practice.  Both TSG and Blue Fish build solutions to allow business users to regain control of the content displayed on their websites. Based in Austin, Texas, Blue Fish is in their 6th year of delivering services and products that address ECM challenges.

This partnership allows TSG and Blue Fish to leverage our combined strengths and capabilities to better serve clients in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, financial services, and government industries with innovative services and more robust product sets.

The partnership allows Blue Fish and TSG to easily share services and software products across clients as well as provide detailed training to each other on our software and services.  Specifically, TSG will be able to assist clients in implementing Blue Fish Navigation Manager.  Navigation Manager is an extension to Documentum Web Publisher that empowers business users to manage and change web site navigation without the support of technical staff.   Blue Fish will be able to assist clients in implementing TSG’s Active Wizard.  Active Wizard, an industrial strength open source form and workflow product, extends EMC Documentum capabilities by providing a unique wizard-type interface that presents users with straightforward questions and rules for creating and completing forms, initiating data driven workflow and completing workflow approvals.

One of the major difficulties of Documentum customers is creating and managing the resources and equipment of an internal scanning operation. Too often, internal scanning efforts result in poor content and metadata added to the Documentum repository.
