TSG hosted Alfresco’s Chicago Lunch & Learn in our downtown office on November 20th. The turnout was great, with over 40 attendees, including existing Alfresco Enterprise and Community users, representatives from Alfresco’s sales and engineering teams, as well as those who are not yet Alfresco users, all looking to learn more about Alfresco.
The focus of the Lunch & Learn was on the upcoming Alfresco Enterprise 5.0 release. Ray Wijangco, the Alfresco practice lead at TSG, presented a demo that showcased the enhancements and new features coming in Alfresco 5. More information about what’s new in Alfresco 5 can be found in our Alfresco Summit 2014 Recap.
Lunch was served after Ray’s demo, allowing time for networking amongst the group. It was great to hear from so many different people and industries about how they’re currently using Alfresco, or how they’re planning to use it in the future. It was also nice to have members of the Alfresco and TSG engineering and sales teams around to answer questions.
After lunch, Ray presented some additional Alfresco Tips and Tricks that TSG has compiled from doing work for various clients. There were a lot of head nods in the room when he talked about things like Datalist-Driven Value Assistance and Autofiling. Ray wrapped up with presenting a client use case and then opened the floor for questions.
In summary, it was great to see so many Chicago area Alfrescans brave the unseasonable cold to attend the Lunch & Learn. TSG looks forward to hosting similar events in the future. To keep up with what’s going on in the Chicago Alfresco community, be sure to join the MeetUp Group.
