The New York Philharmonic will be hosting a Google Hangout tomorrow to discuss the new release of Digital Archives material from 1943-1970 (International Era). Scholars from around the world will be participating to discuss the content, and the historic tours from that time period under Leonard Bernstein.
The event will start at 10:30 EST.
TSG has been working in conjunction with the NY Philharmonic for this release, developing new functionality specifically focused on the ability for users to tag people in the extensive image collection. We’ve leveraged OpenAnnotate, storing all tagged metadata within the Alfresco repository. The digital archive has also been enhanced to allow the creation of collections of images and photographs, which can be displayed in a slideshow format. From what we’ve seen so far, the new content is amazing. Look for future posts where we talk about the details of the latest implementation.
